About The Power Yoga Podcast
The Power Yoga Podcast started as a personal project with the initial desire to have an audio-only class that seasoned yogis could simply pop on their headphones and flow. The intention was to have power yoga in your pocket — to practice anywhere and simplify the process of getting you onto your mat!
So much of our life in this modern world is dependent on staring at a screen and having internet access. It can be filled with a lot of noise, expectations, and distractions. If we are lucky, sometimes we find ourselves without those things. The purpose of this podcast is to help facilitate a more intimate practice, that is free of the excess, and to help you meet yourself wherever you are.
Of course, everyone is on a different journey in their yoga practice. Many of our classes include video, but know that all classes can be practiced audio-only. The hope is that along the way you will begin to practice through listening — not only to the verbal cues, but by listening to your body and your mind.
Meet your instructor
Sarah began practicing yoga during undergrad as an outlet for self-care. In 2016 she left her home in Virginia to pursue her 200-hour yoga teacher training in Barcelona, Spain. She is certified in hot vinyasa and has training in yin, prenatal, acro, and aerial yoga.
When signing up for her yoga teacher training, Sarah initially had no intentions of leading a yoga class. But along the way her practice, guided by the many wonderful teachers before her, naturally sparked a path into self-discovery. This inspired her to share this spark with others in the hopes that they could use yoga as a way to discover something about themselves too.
Upon starting her yoga teaching journey she had no idea how much it would give back to her. In yoga, much like in life, there is no one size fits all and she is eternally grateful to be able to share her practice and perspective with others. She has learned that everyone’s journey is a little bit different, but at the end of the day, we all meet in savasana.
Sarah has since found her home in the mountains and in her spare time enjoys rock climbing, cooking, and fostering kittens.
